Waiting is something that no one enjoys. Waiting for something or someone that has been on your heart for a long time can be especially tough. It calls for faith. And when your faith is being stretched, it can really feel unbearable.
Waiting could build your faith muscles, but waiting could also destroy your faith. Have you ever been there? Are you able to relate?
What Should You Do While You Wait?
You could complain or you could maintain a posture of gratitude while you’re waiting for some things to manifest in your life. I was guilty of complaining in the past but now I make a conscious effort to be thankful for every little thing. What about you?
While waiting, you should prepare or get ready to receive. Because if you’ve not prepared yourself to receive, you might not be able to handle that which you’ve been wanting. For instance, if you’ve been wanting to be in a (healthy) relationship but there’s a part of you that’s not healed, you’d probably end up hurting yourself or the other person.
How Should You Wait?
Joyce Meyer says that there are two ways to wait: passively or expectantly. According to her, a passive person is willing to sit around hoping for something good to happen. An expectant person, on the other hand, is hopeful, believing that the answer (or the thing) that he wants is just round the corner.
So how should you wait? Expectantly, obviously.
Why Waiting is Good for You
According to Rebekah Dietz, waiting makes you realise you’re not ready. And in a world of instant gratification, we might want something now only to regret it later. So waiting could really be good for you.
